Lachlan Janetzki (Eljay)

Queer Officer (LGBTQIA+ Representative)

First Year, Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Criminal Justice & Criminology

With years of leadership experience and community service, Lachlan understands the power of giving back and rests his faith with the belief that just one person can make a profound difference to the lives of others. As an aspiring changemaker, advocate, and judge in criminal law, he has made it his mission in life to make the world a better place.

In his downtime, Lachlan loves to party with his friends, journal and reflect, read and binge watch his favourite series, and run with his dog, Pancake.

As the SLSS’ first LGBTQIA+ representative, Lachlan sees this new role as an opportunity to raise awareness about and to fight against social injustices in the name of equality, and empower others to do the same. This year, he aims to secure partnerships between the SLSS and queer rights organisations, to facilitate events that encourage self-expression, challenge negative attitudes and stereotypes, and open doors for his proud peers and allies and everyone around him.
